Nutrition

The Gordon County Schools' Nutrition Department is a vital part of the overall educational experience for students in the district, contributing to the academic success of students by encouraging a lifetime of healthy eating through our breakfast & lunch meal programs. Our meals utilize locally grown produce and foods to create delicious and nutritious menu items, which are prepared and served by caring, dedicated professional staff in a friendly environment. All of our school facilities provide meal service that meets the USDA dietary guidelines.

The staff of the nutrition department oversees ten food service facilities that serve more than 350,000 breakfasts and 750,000 lunches annually, along with 80,000 snacks for after school activities.  The summer feeding program provides meals to students in multiple locations throughout the community to ensure children are well nourished throughout the summer months.

Raising the bar and setting the standard with each meal we serve.
